About this calculator

eDPI multiplies mouse DPI by in-game sensitivity so sensitivities can be compared across setups, but it only holds within one game because each game uses a different yaw constant. Centimetres per 360 degree turn is the only figure that transfers between games.

Worked example

calculated with the default values below

Mouse DPI 800 · In-game sensitivity 1 · Game yaw constant CS2 / CS:GO / Apex · Your preferred cm per 360 40 cm eDPI 800 · cm per 360 degree turn 51.95 cm · Inches per 360 degree turn 20.45 in · Mouse travel for a 180 25.98 cm · Sensitivity to hit your preferred cm/360 1.299

Method and assumptions

cm360 = 360 × 2.54 ÷ (DPI × S × Y) eDPI = DPI × S; inverse: S = 360 × 2.54 ÷ (cm360 × Y × DPI). 2.54 converts inches to cm. eDPI multiplies mouse DPI by in-game sensitivity so sensitivities can be compared across setups, but it only holds within one game because each game uses a different yaw constant. Frequently asked questions

Why does eDPI change when I switch between games?

eDPI is just DPI times in-game sensitivity, so it looks portable, but each game applies a different yaw constant, here selectable as 0.022, 0.07, 0.0066 or 0.00555. That constant converts sensitivity into real turning distance, so two setups with the same eDPI can spin the view at very different rates. Only cm per 360 transfers cleanly between games.

Which inputs and limits apply to eDPI Calculator — Mouse Sensitivity & cm per 360 Turn?

Use the units shown beside each field. These are form limits, not recommended settings. Mouse DPI: 50–32,000; In-game sensitivity: 0.01–100; Your preferred cm per 360: 5–200 cm cm360 = 360 × 2.54 ÷ (DPI × S × Y) eDPI = DPI × S; inverse: S = 360 × 2.54 ÷ (cm360 × Y × DPI). 2.54 converts inches to cm. eDPI multiplies mouse DPI by in-game sensitivity so sensitivities can be compared across setups, but it only holds within one game because each game uses a different yaw constant. What is a complete worked example for Mouse DPI = 800; In-game sensitivity = 1?

Inputs: Mouse DPI = 800; In-game sensitivity = 1; Game yaw constant = CS2 / CS:GO / Apex; Your preferred cm per 360 = 40 cm. Calculation: cm360 = 360 × 2.54 ÷ (DPI × S × Y). Results: eDPI = 800; cm per 360 degree turn = 51.95 cm; Inches per 360 degree turn = 20.45 in; Mouse travel for a 180 = 25.98 cm; Sensitivity to hit your preferred cm/360 = 1.299.
