B lookup (shoe size): <7 → 7.75, <9 → 8.0, <10.5 → 8.25, <12 → 8.5, else 8.75; style: street −0.15, park +0.15, cruiser +0.45, freestyle −0.5; age: child −1.2, youth −0.5, adult 0; wheel, truck and length are text recommendations by W band.
Frequently asked questions
Why does a bigger shoe size call for a wider skateboard deck?
The tool keys deck width to shoe size because foot length sets how much landing platform a rider needs. At US 9.5 the base width is 8.25 inches, rising in steps to 8.75 by size 12, and a cruiser style adds 0.45 more for stability. Riding a deck far narrower than your feet makes landings sketchy, so width tracks the shoe rather than height. Children and youth trims subtract up to 1.2 inches from the base.
