About this calculator
This heuristic adds 0, 1 or 3 capacity places for none, some or lots of gear and uses 18 sq ft per place (1.6× for family style). Trip type changes suggested styles/features; walking distance only changes the packing note. These are planning prompts, not a manufacturer capacity standard.
