About this calculator

Planning estimate in US dollars (USD). Vehicle area, material multipliers, waste and labour hours are simplified assumptions; shape complexity, shop pricing, taxes and preparation are not modeled. Get an installer quote.

Worked example

calculated with the default values below

Vehicle type Sedan · Material Cast vinyl (standard) · Coverage Full wrap · Material price per square foot 4.5 USD/sq ft · Labour rate 85 USD/h Surface area to cover 218 sq ft · Material cost 983 USD · Labour hours 9.9 h · Labour cost 844 USD · Estimated total 1,827 USD

Formula and variables

Cost = 1.15·A·c·p·m + (1.15·A·c ÷ 22)·k·r

A
Base vehicle area (sq ft)
c
Coverage factor (0.35 or 1)
p
Material price per sq ft
m
Material multiplier (0.8–2.4)
k
Labour factor (1 full, 1.2 partial)
r
Labour rate per hour
Cost
Total wrap cost

USD planning model: vehicle area × coverage × 1.15 waste factor; material uses entered price and illustrative material multipliers. Labour assumes 22 sq ft/hour, with a 1.2 partial-wrap factor. No shop quote or shape-specific work is included.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the model estimate a higher material cost for PPF?

The 2.4 multiplier is a model assumption applied to the material price you enter; it is not a market-price survey. For a full SUV, the model uses 230 sq ft × 1.15 = 264.5 sq ft. At $4.50 per sq ft, the PPF material estimate is about $2,856 before labour. All costs are shown in USD; request an installer quote for actual pricing.
