Frequently asked questions

Why does an Australian tablespoon convert to more millilitres than a US one?

The unit select includes a separate Australian tablespoon at 20 millilitres, while the US tablespoon is 14.787 millilitres, so 2 Australian tablespoons hold 40 millilitres versus 29.57 for US. Teaspoons are fixed at 4.929 millilitres and the tool derives cups by dividing millilitres by 236.588. Choosing tbspau therefore inflates every other output, which is exactly why imported recipes need checking.
