About this calculator
Enter total guests and the number of children within that total. The estimate gives one favor per adult and the selected number per child, then rounds the spare allowance up.

Formula and variables
F = max(0, G − C) + k C; F_s = ceil(F × (1 + p ÷ 100)); cost = F_s × c
- G
- Total guests
- C
- Children
- k
- Favors per child
- p
- Spare percentage
- c
- Cost per favor
Children are a subset of guests (C ≤ G); adult favors = G − C; child favors = C × favors per child; spares are rounded up.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the calculator count two favors for each child but one for adults?
The benchmark is 2 favors per child and 1 per adult, so 25 guests with 10 children means 15 adults plus 20 child favors, 35 in total. The spare setting then adds a percentage on top — at 10% that is 39 favors — and at $2.50 each the cost is about $97.50, or $3.90 per guest. Counting attendees rather than invitations avoids running short when extra siblings show up.
