About this calculator
Children's birthday costs are dominated by venue and cake rather than food, and favors are the line that quietly doubles when you forget siblings. Pricing the cake by the slice rather than by the cake keeps the estimate honest.

Frequently asked questions
Why does the cake use one point two servings per guest?
Cake servings are guests multiplied by Cake servings per guest, defaulting to 1.2, because hosts expect a little leftover and some guests take a second small slice. At 20 guests that is 24 servings at 4 dollars each, so 96 dollars before venue and decorations, which alone add 310. Lower the 1.2 toward 1.0 for a tight budget or raise it for generous leftovers; the cost per guest moves with it.
